While according to data from NZTA big bike sales are struggling in the NZ market at the moment, Triumph might be on a winning track with its soon to arrive new Thruxton 400 and Tracker 400 models giving the brand a larger foothold in the sub-500cc market.

Kiwis have always been price conscious buyers, and lately that has been on full display with some of the top sellers of 2025 all coming in at under $10,000 - and that's exactly where Triumph has placed its hot new 400cc models which are expected to arrive in the coming months.

Both the Thruxton 400 cafe racer and fun looking Tracker 400 will be priced at $9,995 plus on road costs when they arrive in New Zealand - joining the lauded Speed 400 and Scramber 400 variants of Triumph's TR-series platform.

The Thruxton 400 adds a bikini fairing reminiscent of the Speed Triple RR to the Speed 400 recipe along with a number of high quality updates to up-spec the bike including revised engine and colour choices.

The Tracker 400 is Triumph's first crack at a tracker style machine, and gives a more aggressive somewhat off-road vibe to the 400 platform that doesn't quite go as all out as the Scrambler models. As such it features a seat height between the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X of just 805mm, distinct fuel tank from the rest of the range, plus 17-inch wheels shod in blocky Pirelli MT60 RS tyres that offer off-road style with on road performance.

Importantly, both the Thruxton 400 and Tracker 400 get a boost in power from their 398cc TR-series engines, which now put down 42PS of peak power backed by the same 37.5Nm of torque.

With the 400 models being top sellers for Triumph in 2025, the new additions are sure to be a hit when they arrive at that sharp price point starting from February 2026.
