Ducati Monster Dark Debuts
Ducati has officially pulled the covers off the new Monster Dark, giving its legendary middleweight naked bike a minimalist, total-black makeover.

Embracing the iconic formula “Everything you need, nothing more,” the Monster Dark revives a heritage livery first introduced on the original 1990s Monster, catering directly to riders seeking the purest expression of the Borgo Panigale icon.
The Reasoning: Pure Monster Heritage
Ducati’s push with the Dark is clear: return to the core DNA of the Monster while serving as an accessible entry point to the Ducati family. By leaving components exposed—such as the aluminium front frame, intake snorkel, and exhaust end caps—and pairing them with a total-black livery, single-material seat, and black wheels, Ducati emphasises authentic design over extra trim.
Key Specifications
Engine: 890 cc V2 engine with IVT (Intake Variable Timing) delivering 111 hp @ 9,000 rpm and 91.1 Nm @ 7,250 rpm (with over 80% torque available between 4,000–10,000 rpm).
Weight & Chassis: Tipping the scales at a benchmark 175 kg (wet, without fuel)—down 4 kg from the previous generation—it relies on an aluminium monocoque front frame paired with a hybrid technopolymer subframe.
Brakes & Suspension: Brembo braking system (M4.32 radial calipers) paired with Showa front suspension.
Electronics: Standard suite controlled via a 6-axis IMU, including 4 Riding Modes (Sport, Road, Urban, Wet), Cornering ABS, Traction Control, Wheelie Control, and Engine Brake Control displayed on a 5” colour TFT dash.

LAMS Options: An A2-compliant detuned version will also be offered internationally; however, this restricted 35 kW A2 version is built specifically for overseas markets and will not be LAMS-eligible in New Zealand due to its 890cc displacement.
New Zealand Pricing & Availability
ETA: Global dealership availability begins in November 2026. While local shipments to New Zealand showrooms are expected shortly after late 2026 / early 2027, official local delivery dates are yet to be finalised by Ducati Australia & New Zealand.
