Triumph unveils new Trident Triple Tribute for 2026

Triumph's special edition Trident returns for 2026 and its heading to Kiwi dealerships

Triumph's new Trident Triple Tribute stands in a dark garage with lighting to show off its distinct new looks.

Triumph Motorcycles enjoys pumping out a special edition motorcycles as much as the next manufacturer but none of the British firm's specials are as attainable as the Triumph Trident Triple Tribute. Now repeat that 10x over without getting tongue tied!

First launched last year, the Trident Triple Tribute (which we'll call the Trident TT from here) pays homage to Triumph racer 'Slippery Sam' - a Trident 750 that raced and won the infamous Isle of Man TT in the 1970s.

Last year's model was only offered in the New Zealand market as a LAMS motorcycle, but for 2026 Kiwis get to experience not only the full 81PS of peak power but a range of other updates including better electronics and a hot new paint job.

“This middle-weight roadster continues to be incredibly popular in a highly competitive category, winning new fans with every new update,” Triumph's Chief Commercial Officer, Paul Stroud, said.

“Following the launch of the latest generation Trident in September, and the global success of the Trident Triple Tribute special edition in 2024, we were keen to meet the demands of our customers for an updated Trident Triple Tribute this year. The striking styling and exceptional finish is sure to turn heads, while the triple engine performance, and rider-focused technology will turn even a daily commute into a thrilling ride.”

The new Trident TT is equipped with the Trident’s latest rider-focused upgrades, including a Sport riding mode delivering a sharper throttle response for a more exhilarating ride, and Optimised Cornering ABS and Traction Control. The factory supplied Triumph Shift Assist quickshifter ramps up the fun and provides smooth, clutchless gear changes both up and down.

The new Special Edition retains its racing-inspired looks, paying tribute to Triumph’s legendary five-time Isle of Man TT-winning ‘Slippery Sam’, but this time with an even more modern graphic scheme. The sleek sapphire black bodywork provides a deep, glossy black finish which forms the base of this special edition, bringing a stealthy new look to the Trident Triple Tribute.

This is contrasted with bold Cobalt Blue and Diablo Red highlights, which sweep across the tank, tail and front end. The ‘67’ race number graphic on the tank once again gives a stylish nod to the most famous Trident in history.

The wheels are striking, now painted in Diablo red, to give the Trident TT unmistakable presence, while the compact, aerodynamic flyscreen screen in Sapphire Black with matching Triple Tribute graphic detail, enhances the front-end silhouette. Completing the modern new look, a sculpted aluminium belly pan is also fitted as standard for a clean, aggressive lower profile and extra road presence.

New Zealand pricing for the Trident TT is yet to be announced by Triumph Motorcycles NZ, but we expect it to be pretty sharp in line with the previous offering. The first examples of the 2026 Trident TT are expected to arrive in local dealerships in mid-2025.
