TRIUMPH CELEBRATES FIRST EVER PERFECT WEEKEND WITH A 1-1-1 FINISH IN MX2!

Triumph Factory Racing celebrated a major milestone over the weekend as Guillem Farres secured maximum points at the Agueda circuit, delivering the team’s first-ever perfect 1-1-1 finish in the FIM MX2 Motocross World Championship.

Farres dominated the tenth round of the series, capitalizing on the momentum from a second-place overall finish in Italy the previous week. The 23-year-old Spaniard took full advantage of the sandy, hard-pack Portuguese track, which featured sizeable jumps and multiple line choices.

How the Races Unfolded

Following a victory in Saturday’s qualifying race, Farres secured prime gate pick for Sunday’s Grands Prix.

  • Moto 1: Farres narrowly missed the holeshot at the first turn but executed a tight inside line through the second corner to take the lead. From there, he gapped the chasing pack to secure his sixth moto win of the season.

  • Moto 2: Farres claimed a clean holeshot and steadily built a comfortable lead, taking the checkered flag more than 10 seconds ahead of championship leader Sacha Coenen.

With his second Grand Prix overall victory of the year, Farres walks away from Portugal with a perfect 60-point weekend. He currently sits second in the championship standings, reducing the gap to title rival Coenen to 32 points with nine rounds remaining.

The Winning Machine: Triumph's TF 250-X

The historic weekend further validates Triumph’s rapid development in the dirt bike market. Farres’ weapon of choice, the Triumph TF 250-X, was developed in collaboration with off-road racing legends Ricky Carmichael and Ivan Cervantes.

Engineered with a class-leading power-to-weight ratio, the bike delivers a maximum power of 47.3 PS at 13,750 rpm from its ultra-lightweight chassis. Out of the box, the production models mirror this racing pedigree, featuring top-tier components including KYB suspension, Brembo brakes, Pro Taper handlebars, and D.I.D wheels. It also comes equipped with advanced race electronics, such as launch control, traction control, a quickshifter, and selectable engine maps.

For riders looking to bring that championship-winning tech to their local track, the TF 250-X is currently available across Triumph’s dealership network starting at $13,095.

Team Standings and Statistics

Teammate Camden McLellan delivered a solid performance to finish sixth overall on the day, going 4-5 across the two motos. McLellan currently holds fourth place in the championship standings.

In only its third year since launching its off-road program, the Triumph Factory Racing team is enjoying a breakout season. To date, the team has achieved:

  • 3 overall victories (two for Farres, one for McLellan)

  • 9 individual moto wins

  • 12 total podium finishes (including three double-podiums and a historic 1-2 finish in France)

A Triumph rider has stood on the podium in nine out of the ten Grand Prix events contested so far this season.

The Boss' Reactions

"To come away with a perfect 1-1-1 score is exactly what we were aiming for," Farres said. "I got two good starts on Sunday, which made a big difference, and from there I was able to manage both races, control my pace, and make smart decisions."

Triumph Factory Racing Team Manager Vincent Bereni acknowledged it was a mixed weekend overall but praised the historic milestone. "Camden had a tougher weekend than usual and struggled a little to find his flow, but he still fought hard," Bereni said. "Guillem was very strong again... [a perfect weekend] is great for the championship."

Ian Kimber, Head of Global Racing Programs for Triumph Motorcycles, noted the significance of the achievement against established paddock veterans. "To achieve a 1-1-1 perfect score in MX2 is something we basically dreamed of when we first started this project," Kimber said.

"We are competing against manufacturers that have been racing in that series for decades."

The FIM Motocross World Championship now heads to Johannesburg for the MXGP of Republic of South Africa on July 5.
