Suzuki DR-Z4 NZ Pricing and Arrival Announced

It's been a long time coming, but we finally have a price and arrival date for Suzuki's heavily revised dual sport DR-Z4S and supermoto DR-Z4SM.

Suzuki Motorcycles NZ has announced pricing and arrival times for its highly anticipated new DR-Z range, with both models set to retail at $14,899 plus on-road costs upon arrival in the final quarter of 2025.

The new bikes replace the incredibly long-lived DR-Z400E in the New Zealand market, featuring major updates to the fuel system, braking, and styling. We also see the return of Suzuki to the supermoto segment since the previous DR-Z400SM was pulled due to New Zealand's strict ABS laws.

While the $14,899 price point seems high compared to the outgoing bike's $10,999 price tag, it is in line with (and in some cases cheaper than) other markets around the world, which have already seen the DR-Z4 range released.

We also see huge updates, including EFI for the first time and switchable ABS braking. The DR-Z4S can completely switch the ABS off, while the supermoto can switch the rear ABS off. With the technological updates, the new DR-Z also gains traction control and three ride modes that deliver different power characteristics to match the riding conditions, with all power modes building to the same peak power figure of.

The majority of updates are a huge step forward for Suzuki and the DR-Z, with our only reservation being the bike's relatively small 8.7-litre fuel tank. Considering the history of the DR-Z range in the aftermarket world, we expect long-range tanks to be developed in due course to rectify this slight oversight by Suzuki.
