Royal Enfield's hotly anticipated entry into the middleweight LAMS cruiser world is on its way to New Zealand with a cheaper entry point than we might have expected.
Introductory pricing for the Super Meteor 650 has been set at just $12,490 plus on-road costs for the new 650cc parallel twin cruiser. For comparison, RE's other 650 twins retail from $11,190 for the Interceptor and $11,390 for the Continental GT.
The new Super Meteor may utilise the same 650cc engine, but that is essentially where the similarities with its stablemates end. Enfield has developed the chassis from the ground up with the Super Meteor notably being the first Royal Enfield to adopt a set of Upside Down (USD) forks among other chassis upgrades.
As with Royal Enfield's other Kiwi offerings, the Super Meteor will be backed by a 3-year unlimited kilometre warranty and a 3-year roadside assistance for extra peace of mind.
The first shipments of Super Meteor 650 pre-order bookings will be delivered to customers in April 2023, according to Royal Enfield Australia & New Zealand. Additionally, the first five customers across New Zealand or Australia, to place their deposit online today (January 27th) will receive an exclusive invitation to the official Australian Super Meteor 650 launch ride event. If you've seen a launch in mags and have always wanted to go on one, now's your chance!
