Red Tide Rises: Ducati Celebrates Centenary with Record-Breaking Global Ride

There is something inherently different about the "Ducatisti." While most brands have customers, Ducati has a congregation. That global brotherhood was on full display this past weekend as the Italian marque celebrated its 100th anniversary in the most fitting way possible: with a massive, coordinated roar of Desmodromic valves across five continents.
The fifth edition of #WeRideAsOne wasn't just another owner's ride; it was a record-breaking statement of intent. On Saturday, May 9, more than 22,000 riders across 70 countries took to the streets. From the tight urban grid of New York to the coastal curves of Perth and the bustling streets of Singapore, the world turned a very specific shade of Rosso Corsa for 24 hours.
A Century of Passion
2026 marks exactly 100 years since the Cavalieri Ducati brothers founded the company in Borgo Panigale. What started as a radio component factory has, a century later, become the emotional heartbeat of the motorcycling world.
To mark the milestone, riders didn’t just parade through their local cities; they organized massive photographic tributes, lining up their machines to form a giant "100" visible from above. It’s the kind of coordinated passion that only a brand with this much "soul" can pull off.
"The 2026 edition became the largest #WeRideAsOne ever, confirming the growing success of an event that continues to attract an increasing number of Ducatisti around the world."

From the C-Suite to the Streets
One of the hallmarks of Ducati’s modern era is that the people running the show actually ride. This wasn't a corporate event managed from a boardroom; CEO Claudio Domenicali and VP of Global Sales Francesco Milicia were out in the thick of it, rubbing shoulders (and handlebars) with the community.
Whether it was a brand-new Panigale V4, a rugged DesertX, or a retro-cool Scrambler, the event proved that while the bikes vary, the "Red" passion remains the same.
Next Stop: Misano
If #WeRideAsOne was the appetiser, the main course is just around the corner. All eyes are now shifting toward the Adriatic coast for World Ducati Week (WDW) 2026.
Scheduled for July 3–5 at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, this year’s WDW is set to be the mother of all birthday parties. July 4th officially marks the centenary, and if the turnout this past weekend is anything to go by, Misano is going to be absolutely packed.
If you’re planning on making the pilgrimage to Italy this July, tickets are already live on Ducati.com. Given the momentum from this weekend’s global ride, I wouldn’t wait around—this is one anniversary you won't want to view from the sidelines.
Stay tuned to OnThrottle for more updates as we approach the Ducati Centenary celebrations in Misano.
