Le Mans seems to be one of those magical places in motorsport where history is made and legends are born. In the latest tale from the storied French circuit, Aprilia Racing has made its mark with an historic 1-2-3 podium lockout in the Michelin Grand Prix of France.
For the Noale factory, this wasn't just a win; it was a total eclipse of the field. In a masterclass of Italian engineering and raw grit, Aprilia secured its first-ever premier class podium sweep, proving that the RS-GP is no longer just a challenger—it’s the bike to beat.
The Martinator’s Masterclass
Leading the charge was Jorge Martín, who delivered a performance that reminded everyone why he’s a title favorite. Starting from a less-than-ideal seventh on the grid, Martín sliced through the pack with surgical precision.

It had been 588 days since his last Sunday victory (Mandalika 2024), and he ended that drought in style. By securing both the Sprint and the Grand Prix win, Martín mirrored his 2024 Le Mans success, but this time with the added prestige of his first victory aboard the Aprilia. Remarkably, this was his ninth top-class win and the first time he’s ever won from outside the front two rows.
"I never let up," Martín said. "Aprilia is giving me what I need and my confidence is growing day by day."
Consistency is King for Bezzecchi
Following Martín across the line was teammate Marco Bezzecchi. While Martín grabbed the headlines for the comeback, Bezzecchi’s second-place finish cemented his status as a model of consistency.
This result marked his fifth consecutive podium of the 2026 season—a feat of momentum that hasn't been seen in the paddock since Valentino Rossi pulled it off in 2015.

A Historic First for Trackhouse
Completing the "All-Aprilia" podium was Ai Ogura of the Trackhouse MotoGP Team. Ogura’s third-place finish provided the final piece of the puzzle for Aprilia’s historic day, marking a massive milestone for the American-owned satellite squad and further vindicating Aprilia’s expansion strategy.
By The Numbers: A Day for the Record Books
The lockout at the Bugatti Circuit adds some serious weight to Aprilia’s trophy cabinet:
Achievement | Detail |
Podium Lockout | First time in Aprilia's MotoGP history |
Factory 1-2 | Fourth "brace" for the factory team |
Podium Streak | Seventh consecutive premier class podium |
Total Wins | Aprilia now sits at 306 World Championship victories |
The Boss’s Take
Aprilia Racing CEO Massimo Rivola couldn’t hide his pride after the race, noting the emotional weight of seeing Martín win at the very track where, just a year prior, his future with the team was a point of intense speculation.
"Noale's racing division is doing a truly extraordinary job," Rivola noted. "This is proper recognition for a working team led so admirably by Fabiano Sterlacchini."
With the championship heating up, Aprilia has sent a loud, V4-powered message to the rest of the grid: the "Italian Revolution" is in full swing.
