The Motor Industry Association has released its motorcycle sales figures for 2019, with a clear trend emerging for New Zealand’s top-selling road-going motorcycles.
For the second year in a row, the Suzuki GSX150F topped the charts with a total of 175 units of the sporty little bike finding homes in Kiwis garages.
Rounding out the Top 5 sellers of 2019 was Harley-Davidson's Street 500, Yamaha's YZF-R3, Kawasaki's Ninja 400 and Royal Enfield's Classic.
This continues the strong trend of the LAMS class dominating sales in New Zealand, with the only bike in the top 10 to not fall within the rules of the learner class being KTM's high-performance 790 Adventure R.
The MIA’s figures are based on bikes registered by dealers, which means bikes with sold-our pre-sales such as the Yamaha Tenere 700 (which arrived this week) won’t appear until the 2020 list.
The full list of New Zealand road registrations can be found at the Motor Industry Association's website.
