In what has come as a shock to the local industry, Kawasaki has announced that the New Zealand distribution of the brand is set to change on April 1st, 2024.
This will see the New Zealand distribution of Kawasaki Motorcycle, Side x Side and watercraft Products becoming the responsibility of Kawasaki Australia.
The current distributor of Kawasaki in New Zealand, Lyntech Holdings Ltd, has been the stewards of the brand since 1988, with the current owners The Verhoeven Group taking over Lyntec Holdings from Mike Wilkins in 2017.
Lyntec Holdings Ltd will continue to supply Kawasaki products to the New Zealand market until 31st March, 2024.
In a statement released to the media, Lyntech Holdings attributed the change in local Kawasaki distribution to their success in the New Zealand market.
“As one of the largest privately-owned distributors for Kawasaki products globally, we are honoured that we have grown Kawasaki in New Zealand to a level that it is now deemed successful enough to be run through a subsidiary of Kawasaki Motors Japan.”
