Honda's CRF1100L Africa Twin Gains Android Auto Functionality

Honda’s flagship adventurer just got more appealing thanks to a tech update to the bike’s massive TFT display.

While the CRF1100L Africa Twin launched with Apple’s Carplay connectivity built-in, for those among us who use the more popular Android operating system connecting a smartphone and being able to use its features wasn’t possible. That is, until now with the announcement that the CRF1100L is gaining Android Auto as a feature.

Like the Apple system already installed on the CRF1100L, Android Auto offers clear visual display and easy-to-use voice commands and makes it easy to access Google Maps navigation, music, media, and messaging apps.

Honda Europe made the announcement last week, with owners of bikes already in the fleet able to have the software on their dash updated at their local Honda dealership while new bikes will have the software already loaded at the point of sale. Local distributor Blue Wing Honda yet to confirm when the update will be available to existing CRF1100L Africa Twin owners.
