2021 Burt Munro Challenge Dates Set

It’s back for the 15th year running!

Organisers of the Invercargill based Burt Munro Challenge have announced the event will once again return in February of 2021 - particularly the week of February 10th to 14th.

In the world of Covid-19, it’s a refreshing change to hear of an event locked in rather than cancelled, particularly an event as large as “The Burt”.

The Burt Munro Challenge has been an annual event on the Kiwi motorcycling calendar since 2006 and followed the success of the film The World’s Fastest Indian starring Sir Anthony Hopkins.

Run by the Southland Motorcycle Club, The Burt not only features a well-attended rally, but also a wide range of motorcycle sporting events including beach racing, the Bluff Hillclimb, road racing and speedway events all in honour of Invercargill’s most famous former resident.

The sporting side of the event attracts top New Zealand riders as well as all the weekend warriors, all provided with a variety of exciting events, fantastic entertainment, and famous southern hospitality.

The Burt Munro Challenge has long been on our must-ride list, and with the event running annually in February since 2018 (as opposed to the previous November slot which was plagued with inclement weather) it's the perfect time of year to work in plenty of exploration of the motorcycling playground that is the South Island of New Zealand.
